Introducing eight new Alpha AI models, free for everyone
Alpha AI is expanding its planned model family. Alongside Alpha 0.5 and Alpha Image, specialist models are being built, each designed to do one kind of work especially well.
Meet the new models
- Alpha Reason: works through problems step by step, for math, logic, science and tricky questions.
- Alpha Swift: built for speed, with quick answers to everyday questions.
- Alpha Plus: a strong all-rounder for writing, analysis and many languages.
- Alpha Pro: thorough, well-structured long answers, reports and guides.
- Alpha Code: writes, explains, reviews and fixes code.
- Alpha Mini: light and quick, for short replies and simple tasks.
- Alpha Lingo: translates, and answers in whatever language you write in.
- Alpha Arabic: answers in Arabic and knows the Arabic-speaking world.
Why specialists?
No single model is the best at everything. Math rewards careful step-by-step thinking, a quick question rewards speed, and code rewards precision. Instead of sending every question through one model, Alpha AI lets you pick the one that fits the job, or simply stay on Alpha 0.5.
What stays the same
Alpha 0.5 is still the default, and still the model to use for news, current events and anything you want sources for: it checks live sources as it answers and shows where its facts come from. The specialist models answer from what they know and do not browse the web.
How to use them
Open the model menu in the chat and choose a model under “More Alpha models.” Your next message goes to that model, and you can switch again at any time in the same conversation. The Alpha AI models page shows the full line-up and which model to use for what.
Free for everyone
At launch, a free plan with a daily message allowance is planned. Alpha AI is opening in waves, so join the waitlist to get access. You can also see everything Alpha AI does.
