Alpha Code: the planned AI coding studio in Alpha AI

Status: Alpha AI is pre-launch. Nothing on this page is available to use yet. It describes what we are building and how it is planned to work.

Alpha Code is the programming studio planned for Alpha AI, the all-in-one AI app being built by Alpha Intelligence. It is designed to help you write, understand, fix and review code by describing what you need in plain words. This guide covers what Alpha Code is meant to do, where AI coding help is genuinely useful, and the habits that keep AI-written code safe.

What Alpha Code is designed to do

At launch, Alpha Code is planned to help with the everyday parts of programming:

  • Generate code from a description, such as “a Python function that reads a CSV and returns the average of one column.”
  • Explain code line by line, which is useful when you are learning or reading someone else’s project.
  • Debug by reading an error message and the code around it, then suggesting a fix and why it works.
  • Review a snippet for bugs, readability and obvious security problems.
  • Write tests and convert code between languages.

The planned language list includes JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, React, Node.js, SQL, Rust, Go, Swift, Kotlin, shell scripts and HTML/CSS. You can see how it fits with the other studios on the features page.

The planned model behind it

Alpha Code is the specialist planned for programming inside the planned Alpha model family. Alpha will route tasks to specialized models, some built on open-source foundations. The idea is that coding questions go to a model focused on code, while general questions stay with the default chat model. Details on each planned model are on the Alpha AI models page.

Where AI coding help is genuinely useful

AI assistants are good at the repetitive and the unfamiliar: boilerplate, quick scripts, regular expressions, translating an idea into a first draft, and explaining a language feature you haven’t met before. They are also patient teachers. Asking “why does this loop never end?” and getting a clear explanation can teach more than copying a fix.

They are weaker at large, interconnected systems they can’t see in full, at knowing the latest version of a library, and at understanding your exact requirements unless you spell them out.

Habits that keep AI-written code safe

Whatever tool you use, these rules apply:

  • Read before you run. Understand what the code does, especially anything that deletes files, sends network requests or changes a database.
  • Never paste secrets. API keys, passwords, tokens and private customer data don’t belong in any AI prompt. Replace them with placeholders.
  • Run the tests. If there are no tests, ask for some, and then check that they test something meaningful.
  • Check dependencies. Make sure suggested packages really exist and are maintained before you install them.
  • Respect licenses. If code looks copied from a project, find the source and follow its license.
  • Keep a human in charge. AI can draft and review, but the person shipping the code is responsible for it.

Who Alpha Code is for

Alpha Code is being designed for students learning their first language, hobbyists building side projects, and developers who want a second pair of eyes on a tricky bug. It is not meant to replace learning to code. The goal is to make learning and building faster.

Where Alpha Code stands today

Alpha Code is planned and in development, and there is no public version yet. Alpha Intelligence was founded by Benjamin G. Ocal, who is passionate about building with artificial intelligence. Frequently asked questions

Can I use Alpha Code now?

Not yet. Alpha AI is pre-launch, and Alpha Code is one of the studios being built.

Will Alpha Code run my code?

Running code is something we are exploring, but it isn’t confirmed. The planned core is generating, explaining, debugging and reviewing code that you then run yourself.

Is my code private?

There is no app yet, so we don’t collect any code. Before launch we will publish exactly how prompts and code are handled.
